장소에 대한 감각은 미세한 알아차림에서 옵니다. 창을 통해 들어오는 햇빛의 각도, 목재 표면에서 느껴지는 나뭇결, 공간에 퍼져있는 은은한 향. 공간의 디자인은 이런 디테일들로 비로소 완송되고, 결국 그것들이 모여 분위기를 조성합니다. 디자인 컨셉트는 주어진 공간 구조를 분해해 그것들을 조형적인 언어로 풀어나가는 과정에 가까웠습니다. 분해된 요소들은 다각기둥, 원기둥, 곡면, 육면체 등 조형을 이루는 기본 단위들로 나누어졌습니다. 이 조형들을 가지고 블록쌓기를 하듯 한 구획 한 구획 정성들여 조립해나갔습니다. 특히나 조립의 방식으로 파생된 디자인답게 공간 곳곳에 놓인 조형 요소들이 서로 결합된 형태를 띠고 있도록 의도했습니다.
A sense of place comes from subtle perceptions. The angle of sunlight coming through a window, the grain of wood on a wooden surface, the gentle scent that spreads through the space. The design of a space is finally completed with these details, and they eventually come together to create an atmosphere. The design concept was close to the process of breaking down a given spatial structure and expressing it in a formative language. The broken down elements were divided into basic units that make up a shape, such as a polygonal column, cylinder, curved surface, and hexahedron. These shapes were carefully assembled section by section, as if building blocks. In particular, as a design derived from the method of assembly, the formative elements placed throughout the space were intended to have a form that was combined with each other.
